Rear View of the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser

What new features can we expect from the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser?

2016 Toyota Land Cruiser new features

The often overlooked Toyota Land Cruiser has received some interesting facelifts through the years. The most recent redesign happened just this last year, giving the Land Cruiser a sleek, modern look. While the new model won’t include as many changes, the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser is expected to offer a few new features and enhancements.

Refreshed exterior design

The 2016 Land Cruiser will still be the same rugged, off-road vehicle we all know and love, but it will feature some new design elements in the front and back. At the front of the vehicle, you can expect a new grille design and new LED headlights. At the rear, the Land Cruiser is expected to have a new bumper, center chrome bar, and all-new taillights.

New off-road capabilities will give the 2016 Land Cruiser an extra edge when it comes to taking the road less traveled. Off-Road Turn Assist shortens the vehicle’s turn radius by shifting the brake pressure to the inside wheel, allowing for easier maneuverability on narrow paths. CRAWL Control gives the driver a choice of five driving modes, which alter the engine speed and output as well as braking, so the main focus can be steering to maintain control.

Performance enhancements

In keeping with the 2015 model powertrain, the 2016 Land Cruiser will run on a 5.7-liter V8 engine, which delivers 401 ft-lb torque. However, the new Land Cruiser’s engine will be paired with the all-new eight-speed automatic transmission, which is making its debut in the Toyota lineup.

Additions to the interior

The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser will come fully equipped, so all you have to do it choose an exterior color. The inside will feature flat screens mounted onto the head rests for some back seat entertainment. The new Land Cruiser will also include Toyota’s Sense-P safety technologies, such as Frontal Collision Avoidance and Mitigation, Lane Departure Alert, Auto High Beams, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

You can expect these new features and more from the 2016 Land Cruiser. Although Toyota hasn’t yet announced pricing and other details, we are anxiously awaiting its arrival. Stay tuned for additional information about the refreshed Land Cruiser!
