The New Highlander Hybrid Has Everything You Could Want in a Midsize SUV

The drivetrain is a combination of gasoline and electric, and it is able to function on both, or one, depending on driving speed and acceleration. The Highlander Hybrid shows its gas saving abilities most heavily in the city, where it can run only on its electric motor in stop and go traffic. There is also no need to plug it in, since the brake friction replaces energy lost by the battery. If you drive this Highlander you'll be saving gas to the tune of 27 MPG city and 25 MPG highway.
