Toyota developed its Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) philosophy to make its vehicles and manufacturing plants adaptable to the ever-changing automotive industry. This allows Toyota to save on costs, which can then be invested into future technologies, making its models better and more advanced than ever before.<\/p>\n

Toyota New Global Architecture elements and pillars<\/h3>\n

TNGA mainly focuses on two aspects: Core Strength, which refers to the platforms that are used for multiple models, and Emphasized Personality, or the visible part that is unique to each vehicle.<\/p>\n

Core Strength:<\/strong> Toyota models like the Prius, C-HR, and Corolla use the C segment platform, while the Camry, Avalon, and Highlander have the D segment platform.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Emphasized Personality:<\/strong> Some elements that give Toyota vehicles a more dramatic personality and make them more fun to drive include improved visibility, additional legroom, a wider stance, more athletic styling, a lower center of gravity, more responsive steering, lighter mechanical equipment, and an enhanced overall ride.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In addition to these pillars, TNGA also offers improved power and efficiency. New engines provide reduced fuel consumption and vehicle emissions along with a lower weight for better handling.<\/p>\n

The future of TNGA in the Toyota model lineup<\/h3>\n

The first TNGA-inspired car assembled in North America is the 2018 Toyota Camry, which recently arrived to dealerships across the country, including right here at Toyota Vacaville. TNGA will be incorporated in most North American-produced Toyota vehicles the next time they are fully redesigned. In 2020, Toyota hopes to have TNGA in effect for about half of all new Toyota models produced worldwide.<\/p>\n
