Next year, Tokyo will host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As Japan\u2019s biggest company and an automotive leader for eco-friendly cars like the Prius Hybrid and Mirai Fuel Cell Vehicle, it\u2019s fitting that Toyota will provide the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics with a fleet of electrified vehicles.<\/p>\n

Toyota Electrified Vehicles at Tokyo 2020<\/h3>\n

Toyota, which is a worldwide partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, will provide a total of around 3,700 mobility products and\/or vehicles for Tokyo 2020, with nearly 90% of them electrified. The aim is to achieve the lowest emissions target level of any official fleet used at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.<\/p>\n

Electrified vehicles include Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV), such as the hydrogen-powered Mirai, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), the Prius Prime, and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), including the \u201cAPM\u201d (Accessible People Mover), the Tokyo 2020 e-Palette, and the Toyota Concept-i. Additionally, to help avoid collisions and reduce\/mitigate potential damage or injury, all of the commercially-available vehicles for staff transportation support will come equipped with Toyota\u2019s preventative safety technologies, including Toyota Safety Sense and the Lexus Safety System +.<\/p>\n

Toyota has three primary initiatives for Tokyo 2020.
