Criteria for the RMAP “2020 Car of the Year” Award

For the “2020 Car of the Year” award, the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press Association evaluated many new models and then narrowed the field to four finalists. To be eligible, models were required to either have a major redesign or a new powertrain. In addition to the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, the other finalists for the sedan category were the 2020 Subaru Legacy, the 2020 Nissan Versa, and the 2019 BMW M850i xDrive Convertible. Members of the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press Association then took each of the finalist models for a test drive and selected their top choice. Ultimately, the 2020 Corolla Hybrid came out on top, with it recognized for its very high fuel economy.
