The engine is mated to an Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) with sequential shift mode and the drivetrain is an Electronic On-Demand AWD system with intelligence (AWD-i). All these performance features work together to allow the 2017 Highlander Hybrid to pull a maximum of 3,500 pounds.

2017 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Trim Levels

The 2017 Toyota Highlander Hybrid comes available in three trims. They are:

  1. Highlander Hybrid LE – The LE trim comes standard with seating for 8 passengers and includes Entune Audio with Bluetooth, five USB ports, an integrated backup camera, and Toyota Safety Sense P.
  2. Highlander Hybrid XLE – The XLE trim comes with all the standard features of the LE, plus leather-trimmed front and second row seating, Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite, and a Smart Key System plus liftgate with Push Button Start.
  3. Highlander Hybrid Limited – The Limited trim comes with all the same features as the XLE trim, plus Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, heated and ventilated front-row seating, and Entune Premium JBL Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite.
