When will the leaves change for autumn in the Bay Area, CA?

There’s a lot to love about fall, from all things pumpkin spice to Halloween to carving pumpkins and the list goes on. Another really neat thing about this time of year is the changing leaves and gorgeous fall foliage. But when will this beautiful scenery change to fall colors in the Bay Area? We’re here to provide some predictions for 2018 as well as other info about enjoying the striking fall colors this coming season.

2018 Fall Foliage Prediction for the San Francisco Bay Area

Before we get started, it’s important to note the timing laid out here is for regions along the coast. As you get more inland and higher into the mountain terrain, the leaves will start changing a week earlier than this. Around here, we’ll start seeing some minimal changes coming up around October 8. Moving toward the middle of the month, around October 15, the foliage will be a bit patchy. As we near the end of October, we’ll start getting closer and closer to the peak, which is predicted to happen around November 5 in the Bay Area.

With all that said, these predictions might be a little off, so be sure to keep an eye out and soak in the gorgeous fall foliage as you see it pop up.
